The rooms are reasonably large with comfortable beds. Great to have a lounge area, a kitchen, and more than enough space. The location is convenient and easy, 1 mile from a cyprus-wood castle. The hotel met expectation, I would love to go back: D

The rooms at Fujitaya Kyoto were absolutely amazing! The futon mats on the sand-colored tatami flooring gave it such a cozy feel. As a family with kids, we loved how spacious and comfortable the rooms were. The in-room full-sized refrigerator and microwave also came in handy for storing and heating up snacks.
Personally, we weren't too fond of the shared bathrooms. But hey, that's just our opinion and others may still find it convenient.

I recently stayed at Fujitaya for 3 nights during my trip to Kyoto. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The atmosphere was charming and friendly, and I loved hanging out in the communal area. The included breakfast was simple, but delicious. The location was perfect - just one stop from the main train station in a quiet residential area. They had bikes for rent, which was the best way to explore Kyoto. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, organizing fun activities like a takoyaki party and a tea ceremony. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The location was fantastic, with easy access to both the bus and train stations, making it convenient to explore the city. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. the common areas and rooms were clean and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay.
The breakfast options were limited and repetitive, offering the same items every day. This became slightly monotonous after a while.

our family holiday in kyoto was even better this time, thanks to fujitaya! their helpful staff and warm atmosphere made us feel right at home. the clean and comfortable rooms with traditional tatami and big futons were a delight. we loved exploring the city with the bikes they provided.
Transportation around kyoto was a bit of a hassle, as there was no nearby train stop.
